Volunteer at Mercy General Hospital
Volunteering is a labor of love. Whether delivering flowers, assisting visitors, or helping patients it is a service from the heart.
Volunteers are an integral part of the staff at Mercy General Hospital. Our volunteers include teens, college students, working adults, and retirees. The purpose of serving is to extend extra non-clinical care and compassion to all people who enter our doors.
Mercy General does not have a summer program, shadowing program nor do we have intermittent services. Volunteers are asked to commit to a 3 hour shift at least once a week, others serve twice a week. Please keep in mind we require a commitment of 100 volunteer hours to enter the program. Selection is based on open volunteer positions, skill level and if you meet position requirements/ availability. If you are selected, you will be invited to an interview with the Volunteer Staff virtually. Please remember to add your email address and phone number for contact.
Volunteer assignments depend on areas of interest and availability. Please review the Volunteer Department Descriptions which lists details about the different volunteer opportunities we have at our hospital.
