In the U.S., more women die from heart disease than any other cause, including cancer. It can affect women of all ages, and many times, the symptoms go unnoticed. That's why Dignity Health Heart and Vascular Institute of Greater Sacramento is committed to educating women about the risks and warning signs to help you fight back against heart disease.
The American Heart Association's guidelines for preventing heart disease reinforce an important fact that all women should know: Preventing, diagnosing and treating heart disease is very different if you are a woman.
That's why we created our Heart Shaped Community, a program at Dignity Health Heart and Vascular Institute of Greater Sacramento that helps women incorporate activities and techniques in their daily lives to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This is the first step to becoming heart healthy.
