Dana Asato, EdD, MBA, RN, CENP

Chief Nursing Officer

Dana Asato serves as Chief Nursing Officer at California Hospital Medical Center,  bringing more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience spanning clinical operations, strategic growth, and transformational change across complex health systems. Since joining the organization in February 2025, she has led high-impact initiatives to enhance care quality, optimize hospital throughput, and strengthen nursing practice through innovation and evidence-based leadership.

Dana’s career spans academic medical centers, community hospitals, and regional health systems, where she has held senior executive roles overseeing high-reliability operations, clinical program expansion, and system-level transformation. As Managing Partner of a healthcare consulting firm, she also leads national continuing medical education (CME) symposiums focused on combining cutting edge research and clinical innovation with a focus on bridging gaps in healthcare disparities and a special focus on provider well-being and rejuvenation. Her work reflects a commitment to equity-driven leadership and sustainable system improvement across the care continuum.

Nationally recognized for her expertise in cardiovascular care, Dana serves on the American Heart Association (AHA) Board of Directors and the AHA’s National Advocacy Board for Integrated Cardiovascular Systems of Care. In these roles, she advances policy and clinical initiatives that strengthen access, equity, and outcomes in heart health across the United States.

Dana holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Change and Leadership, a Master of Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is certified in Executive Nursing Practice and remains an active voice in shaping the future of nursing and healthcare leadership at both the local and national levels.
