You’re having a baby! Whether it’s your first baby or you are an experienced mother, we can offer some extra support and assistance through our Welcome Baby Program.
Welcome Baby is a free, voluntary home visiting program for all mothers who live within a five-mile radius of California Hospital Medical Center and give birth at our facility.
Some Benefits of Welcome Baby:
Our goal is to help you and your baby get off to the right start by offering you support, information and resources on issues such as pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, parenting, early child development, basic healthcare, nutrition, maternal depression, and improving home safety.
Every mother who delivers at California Hospital is offered a postpartum hospital visit, at no cost, that includes a maternal/newborn screening, breastfeeding support, information about infant care and attachment, and links to resources and programs in their community. Welcome Baby benefits families in different ways based upon where they live and their unique needs.
Welcome Baby is a part of a network of home visiting programs that work together to provide supportive services to families with newborns. The goal of the network is to connect families with the services that will best meet the unique needs of each family.
