Glendale Memorial Hospital has been recognized by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) as the first hospital in L.A. County to be accredited as a Center of Excllence in Colorectal Surgery. SRC Center of Excellence accreditation is earned through participation in an extensive assessment and inspection process. Factors that must meet SRC standards include surgical volume and outcomes, facility equipment, clinical pathways and standard operating procedures, emphasis on patient education, and continous quality assessment. Our surgeons are involved in ongoing clinical research including colorectal cancer and anorectal disorders ensuring that our patients have access to the most advanced procedures and clinical trials available.

  • Robotic surgery for colon disorders, including cancer
  • Genetic testing for high-risk patients
  • Preoperative staging of rectal cancer with 3D endorectal ultrasound
  • Recurrent cancer management
  • Minimally invasive colon and rectal surgery
  • The avoidance of colostomies for colon and rectal resections, including creation of ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (IPPA)
  • Surgical and non-surgical management of Diverticulitis
  • Inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s and Ulcerative colitis surgery
  • Colon, rectal and anal cancer screening and surveillance
  • Identification and removal or precancerous polyps
  • Hemorrhoids, anal fistulas and fissures including non-surgical, and surgical and minimally invasive treatments
  • Anorectal Diseases associated with HIV infections
  • High Resolution Anoscopy (HRA) for anal dysplasia management
  • Evaluation and treatment of complex intestinal obstructions and fistulas
  •  Evaluation and treatment of fecal incontinence (including pelvic floor and postpartum disorders) with advanced surgical or non-surgical procedures including placement of sacral nerve stimulators
  • Comprehensive anorectal physiology testing in our own laboratory, including Anorectal Manometry
