Diabetes


The Health Education Center at Community Hospital of San Bernardino offers several classes and workshops for adults who want to take control of their diabetes.

Diabetes Talk topics include:

  • Pre-Diabetes
  • Diabetes Basics
  • Healthy Eating
  • Carb Counting
  • Understanding Medications
  • Avoidable Complications
  • Monitoring your Blood Sugar Levels
  • Managing your Diabetes
  • What Can I Drink?
  • Quick Meal Ideas

English: Thursdays at 10 a.m. in October
Time: 10 a.m. 12 p.m.
Cost: Free

Diabetes Con Dulce (Spanish Diabetes Talks) Español
Mondays at 1 p.m. starting on July 10

Diabetes Self-Management (6-week) Program

The Diabetes Self-Management workshops are given 2½ hours once a week for six weeks. Topics include:

  • Techniques to deal with the symptoms of diabetes, fatigue, pain, hyper/hypoglycemia, stress, and emotional problems such as depression, anger, fear and frustration
  • Appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength and endurance
  • Healthy eating
  • Appropriate use of medication
  • Working more effectively with health care providers

These workshops are not currently available. Please note that we need 8 – 16 participants to hold this class. If you would like to be added to our interest list, please contact us.
