Patients & Visitors

Temporary Visitor Restrictions

Our number one priority is to keep our patients, visitors, and hospital community safe. We appreciate that you also want your loved ones who are patients at Community Hospital of San Bernardino to be safe while in our care. As COVID-19 information continues to rapidly evolve, our goal is to keep patients and visitors informed. The hospital has implemented a health screening process, including temperature reading, for all patients, visitors, employees, physicians, and vendors entering our main lobby or emergency department. Please note, any visitor showing signs or symptoms of illness may not visit patients. Instead, please consider using technology such as FaceTime, Skype or WhatsApp to stay in touch. All of our hospital locations will be restricting patient and location access to areas including the cafeteria and chapel depending on the current needs. Please check back periodically for updates. Temporarily, we are implementing the following visitor policy:

  • Adult Neurological Care - No visitors will be allowed access to the unit.
  • Children’s Subacute Unit - No visitors will be allowed access to the unit.
  • General Acute Care - Children thirteen years of age or under are prohibited from visitation. All visitors fourteen years of age and above will be screened for symptoms of respiratory illness.
  • Behavioral Health, Medical Surgery, and Telemetry Units - No visitors will be allowed access to the unit. 

The following areas are restricted to only one visitor:

  • Labor and Delivery, Couplet Care, NICU and Pediatrics
  • Intensive Care Unit 

Exceptions will be made under the following circumstances:

  • End of life circumstance with direct involvement of the House Supervisor.
  • Children who are scheduled for an Outpatient procedure.
  • Children who present to the Emergency Department as a patient.
  • Children who accompany an adult who present to the Emergency Department as a patient. In this case, another adult will be contacted to retrieve the children.
  • Emergency Department - except for children under 18 and disabled individuals who may have one health visitor escort them.

Le agradecemos que usted también cuide la seguridad de sus seres queridos que son pacientes en Community Hospital of San Bernardino mientras reciben nuestra atención.   • Pacientes adultos neurológicos: no se permitirá el acceso de visitantes a la unidad.
  • Unidad pediátrica de cuidados subagudos: no se permitirá el acceso de visitantes a la unidad.
  • Cuidados agudos generales: está prohibida la visita de niños menores de trece años de edad.Todos los visitantes mayores de catorce años de edad serán evaluados para detectar síntomas de enfermedad respiratoria.
  • Unidades de Salud conductual, Cirugía médica y telemetría - no se permitirá el acceso a la unidad a los visitantes.

Las siguientes áreas están restringidas a un solo visitante:

  • Parto, Cuidados de Couplet, UCIN y Pediatría
  • Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos

Se harán excepciones en las siguientes circunstancias:

  • Pacientes en situación terminal, con participación directa del supervisor del hospital.
  • Niños con un procedimiento ambulatorio programado.
  • Niños que se presenten en el Departamento de Emergencias como pacientes.
  • Niños que acompañen a un adulto que se presente en el Departamento de Emergencias como paciente. En este caso, se contactará a otro adulto para que retire los niños.
  • Departamento de Emergencias - excepto para niños menores de 18 años y personas discapacitadas que pueden tener un visitante de salud escoltarlos.
