Hospital receives 6 total awards from Healthgrades, including honors for cardiac and stroke care

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 23, 2018) – Dignity Health Saint Francis Memorial Hospital has received 5-star recognition for the quality of its total hip replacement procedures for the fifth year in a row from Healthgrades, the leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals. Saint Francis also received five-star awards for treatment of stroke, cardiac care, pulmonary services, gastrointestinal care, and critical care.

“Saint Francis Memorial Hospital has long been a leader in orthopedic care, and we are proud of this recognition from Healthgrades,” said David Klein, MD, MBA, president, Saint Francis Memorial Hospital. “We are committed to providing high-quality care in all the services throughout the hospital, and we are honored to take care of the San Francisco community.”

This achievement is part of new findings and data featured in the Healthgrades 2019 Report to the Nation. The new report demonstrates how clinical performance continues to differ dramatically between hospitals regionally and nationally. Every year, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance at almost 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 32 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions.

Saint Francis Memorial Hospital received five-star awards for treatment of heart failure, stroke, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Esophageal/Stomach Surgeries, and sepsis. A five-star rating indicates that Saint Francis Memorial Hospital’s clinical outcomes are statistically significantly better than expected when treating the condition or performing the procedure being evaluated.

Saint Francis Memorial Hospital has received several recognitions from Healthgrades, including:

About the Report
