Quality Burn Care
The 16-bed intensive care burn unit, the largest in northern California, is an isolation unit with an independent ventilating system to minimize the risk of outside contamination and maintain strict room temperature and humidity control. The Center has its own fully equipped operating room, state-of-the-art life support and monitoring equipment, and ultrasonic hydrotherapy for bathing wounds. The Center is family friendly, with dedicated pediatric treatment rooms and play area, as well as the Nash Family Day Room to help all family members, young and old, feel comfortable and cared for. Visiting patients is an important part of healing. Learn more about the patient visiting guidelines for the Bothin Burn Center.
We also have an outpatient burn clinic located adjacent to the Center, where treatment of minor burns is provided Monday through Friday by appointment. Also current and former patients are invited to join our monthly Burn Support Group held the last Thursday of every month.

Hot liquids burn like fire and can cause life-threatening burns. They are the leading cause of burn injuries in children under the age of four. At the Bothin Burn Center, we can help by helping you avoid burns and how to treat a burn should one occur.
A person suffering from burns is highly susceptible to infection, sometimes even more so than others. We invite family and friends to visit between 11 a.m. - 8:30 p.m., and to adhere to the instructions below in order to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Fire Safety And Prevention
Nearly 50 percent of house fires are reported between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. making smoke alarms one of the most important safety devices in your home. If a fire starts in your home you may have only two – three minutes to escape. Protect yourself, your loved ones, and your home by identifying and removing fire hazards and keep a fire extinguisher in your kitchen.
