The following are community-based resources outside of SFMH that may provide support and information:
Transgender Law Center : Provides support with changing legal documents, obtaining health insurance and overall transgender community advocacy.
Trans Lifeline : Peer run support hotline.
California Department of Managed Health Care : A resource for transgender patients seeking coverage for their gender affirming surgeries who have had challenges with the insurance-coverage process.
SF LGBT Center : Provides a variety of LGBT community programming, employment services and LGBT youth specific programs.
Gender Spectrum : Helps to create gender sensitive and inclusive environments for teens
Gender Health SF : San Francisco Public Health department that connects low-income S.F. residents with gender-affirming surgeries.
PFLAG SF : Provides support for families of LGBT youth.
