St. Joseph’s Family Medicine Residency Program has a wellness committee with a dedicated purpose of promoting physical and emotional health and well-being to all our residents and faculty. The committee consists of a chair faculty, wellness chief resident and resident representatives from each post graduate year. It has a program that features a comprehensive curriculum based on four domains of wellbeing: professional, physical, psychological and social. Furthermore, the program’s main focus is to monitor and address the risk factors and signs of burnout and provide education, confidential support, advice, and appropriate professional referral for mental or physical help that meets your needs.
The wellness committee has also a big focus on creating wellness activities during and/or outside our didactic to enhance team building and support the wellbeing of our residents and faculty.
In addition, our wellness committee organizes and arranges two retreats during each academic year, one during the fall season (October) and a second one during the spring season (April/May).
