French Hospital Medical Center Foundation Gala raises record breaking amount for new hospital programs and services
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA – September 26, 2019 – The French Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) Foundation is pleased to announce that the 14th Annual Celebration of Caring Gala raised more than $500,000 to support the BEYOND health fundraising campaign for the Your New French Hospital expansion. This project will add a four-story patient care tower with private patient rooms, enhanced services, advanced technology, and more.
The celestially themed, Written in the Stars, event took place August 24th, 2019 at the ACI Jet Center in San Luis Obispo. The annual event’s remarkable success is due to the incredible generosity of its sponsors, contributors, and guests. Since 2006, the Gala has raised more than $3,300,000 to support FHMC patient programs and services.
Rick Stollmeyer, CEO of MINDBODY was honored with the prestigious 2019 Louis Tedone, MD Humanitarian Award. During the Gala, the Stollmeyer’s surprised the crowd of 300 by announcing a matching gift of $250,000 for funds raised at the Gala.

“Having accessible world class health care is a vital priority that touches all of us who live here on the Central Coast,” said Rick, “The French Hospital team and generous members of our community have done an extraordinary job over the past 15 years lifting the facilities and care to truly world class status, and positively impacted tens of thousands of lives in the process. For this reason, Jill and I are pleased to support this $125 million expansion of the FHMC campus as a capstone of those efforts.”
The $125 million dollar expansion on the FHMC campus includes 56-private patient rooms, 16-bed NICU, ten ICU beds and a more modern and technologically advanced campus.
