Funds raised support the Beyond Health campaign for Your New French Hospital
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA – June 30, 2022 – The French Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) Foundation is proud to announce that more than $75,000 was raised during The French Cup, the thirteenth annual charity Golf Tournament. This year’s event, held on June 13, 2022, at the San Luis Obispo Country Club, was the first tournament held in three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Proceeds from the tournament supported the Beyond Health campaign for Your New French Hospital, which includes the addition of a new Patient Care Tower featuring private patient rooms.
More than 140 golfers participated in the tournament. Ciopinot Seafood Grille, La Esquina Taqueria, KROBAR Craft Distillery, Hotel SLO, and Rod & Hammer provided golfers with delicious food and drink throughout the course. The winning golf team was the Ciopinot Seafood Grille, including players Leonard Cohen, Dan Miller, Ann Parades, and Sheri Hough. The winners took home the highly acclaimed French Cup medals created by Malcolm DeMille, designer of the PGA Tour trophy.
The French Cup was sponsored by Mustangs Sports Properties, with other major sponsors including Pacific Premier Bank, J.W. Design & Construction, Glenn Burdette, Wicks Roofing, and Sunset Honda.
Nipool Patel, a former Foundation Board Member, has chaired the event for the past 13 years. Since its inception in 2007, The French Cup has generated more than $700,000 for FHMC’s programs and services. The FHMC Foundation hosts a number of fundraising activities such as the annual golf tournament to support patient services and hospital programs.
