Thank you for your interest in the Mercy Redding Family Practice Residency Program. Our ACGME accredited residency program is located in Redding, California. We are sponsored by Mercy Medical Center, a member of Dignity Health/CommonSpirit Health, and affiliated with the University of California, Davis. We train high-quality family physicians to meet the health care needs of California, to practice with medically underserved populations, and to be leaders in our medical communities.

In addition to our core faculty, we have 112 volunteer community faculty with UC Davis clinical faculty appointments including the specialties of allergy/immunology, cardiology, psychiatry, dermatology, emergency medicine, ENT, internal medicine, neurology, OB/GYN, ophthalmology,  orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, plastic surgery, general surgery, and urology.

Medical Student / Clerkship Rotations

Located in beautiful Northern California and surrounded by almost 33,000 square miles of mountains, lakes and rivers. Mercy Medical Center provides a unique opportunity for students to obtain family practice clerkships where family medicine is alive and well! Clerkships at the Mercy Redding Family Practice Residency Program are offered to 4th year medical students (or third year students who have completed their core in-patient rotations in OB, Pediatrics, Medicine and Surgery), who are currently enrolled in a school approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, or the American Osteopathic Association.
