Some mothers aren’t able to provide their baby breast milk, which is the best source of nutrition. Dignity Health is proud to offer new mothers the option of donor breast milk at Mercy San Juan Medical Center and Woodland Memorial Hospital.
If you are unable to provide your baby breast milk, allowing them to receive donor breast milk can shorten their time in the hospital and prevent infections. Breast milk also helps your baby’s immune system fight bacteria and viruses while providing the best nutrition to develop and grow. Best of all, babies fed breast milk while hospitalized are able to go home sooner than babies fed formula.
