Mercy San Juan’s Perinatal Certification

Trust your pregnancy and delivery to Mercy San Juan Medical Center's Family Birth Center—one of 10 hospitals in California to receive the Joint Commission's Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care. To achieve this, a hospital must demonstrate excellence in coordinated patient-centered care from prenatal to postpartum phases. In addition, there are strict standards for identifying and managing risks early, as well as maintaining  ongoing quality improvement processes. We do these things and more.

We are equipped for all levels of delivery, from normal to high-risk pregnancies. We practice "gentle birth" options, including maintaining mobility while in labor. One valuable feature of the Family Birth Center is our Level Ill neonatal intensive care unit. In the event of a premature or high-risk birth, our neonatologists are ready to care for the tiniest of newborns, because we want yours to be the safest birthing experience possible.
