Since 1979, Dignity Health’s Greater Sacramento-area Mercy Hospice Care program has been providing compassionate care to terminally ill patients and their families. Our hospice care team works with patients to manage pain and symptoms so that their remaining time may be spent in peace, comfort and dignity.
Our team works with patients of all ages, with all types of terminal illnesses. We also work closely with the patient's family and friends, helping them understand what is happening and how they can cope with the tremendous changes that will occur.
Dignity Health's hospice services are available for patients diagnosed with a terminal illness as well as patients who are referred by their physician requesting hospice care. For those patients seeking comfort care rather than curative care, our team promotes quality of life and dignity for terminally ill patients and their families.
Mercy Hospice is certified and licensed to provide Medicare and Medi-Cal hospice services to patients throughout the region, as well as to patients with other types of private insurance. Individuals without any financial means to obtain hospice care are also considered with services paid through donations from Dignity Health's Sacramento Mercy Foundation.
