Community Hospital Receives Top Awards for Women's Health

Two Dignity Health Inland Empire hospitals, St. Bernardine Medical Center (SBMC) and Community Hospital of San Bernardino (CHSB), are proud to announce they are recipients of 2017 Women's Care Ratings and Excellence Awards by Healthgrades.

Both hospitals received a combined total of 15 honors, including the Labor and Delivery Excellence Award bestowed on both hospitals, and SBMC is also the recipient of the Gynecologic Surgery Excellence Award.

Each year, Healthgrades analyzes the quality of care received by women across the country to help consumers evaluate and compare hospitals online. The Healthgrades 2017 Women’s Care recognition includes ratings and specialty excellence awards in labor and delivery, gynecologic surgeries and procedures, and obstetrics and gynecology.

“These significant honors assist our female patients in recognizing excellent clinical performance while providing information they need to make informed choices about where to receive treatment for the best possible health care”, states SBMC President Douglas Kleam. “We are proud to provide these important services to keep the women of San Bernardino healthy.”

In addition to the combined total of three Service Excellence Awards, SBMC and CHSB were recognized in twelve areas for labor and delivery and gynecologic surgery.

“All of the ratings and awards assure our patients and residents of the surrounding communities that they will receive excellent and safe care at Dignity Health’s SBMC and CHSB”, said CHSB President June Collison. “These honors are a testament of our commitment to the highest level of safe, quality health care services that our employees and physicians provide on a daily basis

Healthgrades independently measures hospitals based on data that hospitals submit to the federal government. No hospital can opt in or out of the analysis, and no hospital pays to be measured.
