Partial Hospitalization Program

At Community Hospital of San Bernardino, our Partial Hospitalization Programs provide psychiatric services to patients that do not require inpatient hospitalization, but more than periodic outpatient therapy.

Health care professionals often ask themselves, "What will best meet the need of our patient?"  Our experienced and multidisciplinary PHP team work closely to provide a warm and nurturing environment to meet our patients' needs.

Patients receive the ultimate support and interventions to stabilize their potential for independent functioning within the community. We provide customized and intensive care to individuals with diagnosis such as:

  • Mood Disorders
  • Major Depression
  • Psychotic Disorders
  • Bipolar Disorders
  • Psychiatric and Chemical Dependency

Our individualized treatment plans, combined with small group therapy, provide a supportive environment where our patients can practice new behaviors, enhance their self-esteem and learn new ways to relate to themselves and others. We encourage a healthy life style and offer coping skills, symptom management and medication management.

Duration of treatment varies from person to person, depending on each individual's needs, progress and assessment. Our typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This way, patients return to their home to put in practice what they've learned during the day. On their return to PHP the following day, patients debrief with our professional team, and learn through practice and evaluation. Free transportation is provided.
