Mission, Vision & Values
For Physicians & Residents
At St. Mary Medical Center, we treat all aspects of digestive illnesses and disease. Our gastrointestinal laboratory is a fully functioning diagnostic and interventional department with a specialty in esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and colonoscopy.
ERCP - Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) enables the physician to diagnose problems in the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, and pancreas.
EGD - Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) is an examination of the lining of the esophagus, stomach, and upper duodenum with a small camera (flexible endoscope) which is inserted down the throat.
Colonoscopy - This is an endoscopic examination of the colon and the distal part of the small bowel with a camera or a fiber optic camera on a flexible tube. It may provide a visual diagnosis (ulcers, polyps) and grants the opportunity for biopsy or removal of suspected lesions.
The Gastrointestinal Services Laboratory is open to outpatient appointments Monday through Friday from 7 am to 4 pm.
