Temporary Visitor Restrictions

A Notice to our Visitors:

In light of the rising number of the COVID-19 cases our visitation guidance is being adjusted accordingly. Due to the rapid changes occurring during this time please refer to the facility for current visitation guidelines versus the website. The following changes are effective 2/15/22:

In accordance with California Department of Public Health (CDPH) State Public Health order all visitors must:

 

  • Provide proof of full vaccination, for unvaccinated or partially vaccinated visitors, verification documentation of a negative SARS- CoV-2 test where the specimen collection occurred within 2 days if using PCR or 1 day if using antigen testing before visiting.
  • Visitation occurring over multiple consecutive days can satisfy the requirements for negative testing by providing proof of a negative test every third day (meaning testing is only required on day one, day four, day seven, and so on).
    For multiple visits, the facility must track verification of testing.
  • Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated visitors with a history of COVID-19 within the prior 90 days may provide documentation of recovery from COVID-19 and release from isolation in lieu of testing.
  • Wear a well-fitting surgical mask at all times. If you do not have a surgical mask, one will be provided to you upon arrival.
  • Wear any other personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the patient’s room that facility personnel deem appropriate.
  • Physically distance from facility personnel and other patients/visitors that are not part of their group at all times.
  • Symptomatic visitors will not be permitted to visit and visitors who have tested positive within 10 days or less.
  • There are exemptions from the vaccination and testing requirements as outlined below. However, testing or vaccine verification is required for subsequent visits within 72 hours following the emergent situation or as soon as reasonably possible.

The exemptions are:

  • Patient in critical condition, when death may be imminent
  • Emergent situations for parents or guardians of pediatric patients
  • A support person for a labor and delivery patient
  • A support persons for a patient with physical, intellectual, developmental disability, or cognitive impairment
  • Patient attending an outpatient appointment and a person who accompanies a patient to an outpatient appointment in a support capacity is not a visitor in an acute-care facility.
  • The Charge Nurse/House Supervisor may make visitation exceptions for imminent death/actively transition toward end of life. This must be communicated to the front desk staff.
  • Children (17 years or younger) not receiving services in the facility will not be permitted to visit.
  • Pediatric patients and patients with Cognitive Impairments, Physical, Intellectual, and/or Developmental Disabilities - one support person may remain with the patient.
  • For procedural/surgery patients - one support person may accompany them until the patient is taken into prep area and when the patient is in recovery and preparing for discharge.
  • Pediatric patients and patients with Physical, Intellectual, and/or Developmental Disabilities and Cognitive Impairments - one support person allowed to be present with the patient overnight. All support persons/visitors must remain in the room and be asymptomatic.
  • Patients are not permitted to have outside food from online delivery platforms.
  • Family members/support persons accompanying a patient receiving care or services in the facility should be permitted to utilize the restrooms in the main lobby.

Visitation for COVID-19 Patients

  • Provided virtually, exceptions when death is imminent/active transitioning toward the end of life.
    Visitors will receive a visitation waiver acknowledgement form and proper PPE..
  • One visitor per patient is permitted, rotation of visitors will not be permitted, visitation may not exceed 30 minutes and the Charge Nurse or Primary RN has the discretion to discontinue visitation.
  • Patients who are not in COVID isolation may have two inpatient visitors/support persons per day. Where death is imminent/actively transitioning toward the end of life, a maximum of two rotating visitors shall be permitted.

Perinatal Services

Labor & Delivery: spouse or support person
Postpartum/3B: Spouse or support person
NICU and Peds: Parents only; maximum two
Spouse/support persons may pick up food at the main hospital entry and return to the unit.

Visiting hours are limited from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Visitors may be asked to leave the facility for non-compliance with any of the visitation guidelines.

Photography and recording are prohibited without permission.

We value the privacy of our patients, visitors and staff. By law, we are required to put safeguards in place to protect all privacy. You may be asked to stop recording at the request of our hospital staff. Visual images solely for the personal use of the patient may be made by the patient or legal guardian in patient rooms at the discretion of the attending physician. However, hospital staff may not be included, unless the staff member has given his or her expressed permission.
