In addition, our Cancer Institute has been recognized by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation for having staff nationally certified in oncology. We are also proud to have performance rates that consistently exceed statewide averages for treatment of breast cancer.

Infusion services include chemotherapy, hormone therapy and biological therapy. Biological therapy is a sub-section of chemotherapy. These are biologically engineered drugs aimed specifically at the cancer. Some include drugs aimed at the cancer gene, while others inhibit nutrients required by the cancer cell. Depending upon diagnosis, the type and size of the cancer, radiation therapy may be used before or after surgery, or in combination with chemotherapy. Side effects will vary based on the part of the body receiving radiation. Most side effects are temporary and patients can work and remain active throughout radiation cancer treatments. Learn More
