Therese Santos, DO

Undergraduate: B.S., Biological Science,  University of California Davis

Medical School: Ross University School of Medicine

Volunteered in Mexico with Flying Samaritans, and medical mission trip in Nigeria

Why this Program: I chose Mercy Redding Family Medicine because it offers a great curriculum that allows me to channel my diverse interest in family medicine. Also, being an unopposed residency program, residents in this program get the firsthand exposure to do it all. But these were not the only selling points that influenced my decision. It was the faculty, residents, nursing staff, administration and support staff that made this place…special. Through the support, kindness, professionalism and fostering sense of camaraderie among my fellow residents, this was an easy choice for me.

Interest within Family Medicine: I am interested in Sports medicine, HIV medicine, Preventive medicine, and Global Health. I have an interest in developing my skills in a global setting so that I could someday in the future, open a medical practice in Nigeria.

Hobbies and Outside Interest: When I am not at work, I love spending time with my wife, going on long-distance road trips, listening to African music, hiking (whiskeytown falls is my current favorite), playing soccer, and watching basketball.
