Northridge Hospital Medical Center Welcomes New Chief Medical Officer

Northridge Hospital Medical Center (NHMC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Dumais, MD, as Chief Medical Officer (CMO), effective March 11.

Dumais will be responsible for overseeing the medical staff while ensuring patients are provided excellent care in the safest environment possible.

In his most recent role, Dumais served as CMO for Trinity Health – Mercy Medical Center in Massachusetts. Among his numerous achievements, Dumais has worked with senior leadership on strategic planning and quality management systems, which led to improved financial performance and increased hospital volumes. He helped ensure the hospital’s full compliance with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and also contributed to the hospital’s achievement of accreditation from The Joint Commission.

“Mark’s experience, leadership and passion for delivering safe, high-quality health care made him the right person to lead our medical staff at Northridge Hospital,” says Paul H. Watkins, NHMC President. “His proven ability to work collaboratively and drive clinical excellence will help ensure a strong future for our hospital.”

Dumais also served as the first-ever CMO at the University of Maryland – Charles Regional Medical Center in LaPlata, MD, helping to achieve the highest Quality-Based Reimbursement score in the entire University of Maryland Medical System.

Dumais holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Harvard Medical School and a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University.
