In October 2015, the California Medical Association (CMA) awarded Dignity Health - St. Mary Medical Center "Accreditation with Commendation," for six years as a provider of continuing medical education for physicians. This is the highest accreditation status awarded by the CMA.
Each month, Dignity Health St. Mary Medical Center Long Beach offers continuing medical education conferences. The ultimate goal of CME is optimum patient care. As an accredited program, St. Mary is widely recognized by physicians and other health care professionals as offering high-quality CME courses that meet the ACCME and the CMA accreditation systems. We are able to award AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™for our activities.
NURSES: The California State Board of Registered Nurses accepts courses approved by the CMA and ACCME for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ as meeting the educational requirements for license renewal.
PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS: The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society.
