St. Mary Medical Center Welcomes New Chief Operating Officer, Bonnie Panlasigui, FACHE

Dignity Health - St. Mary Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Bonnie Panlasigui, FACHE, as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO).

“In her role as COO, Bonnie will be responsible for overseeing all of the hospital’s non-clinical departments, and providing the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure the continuing growth and financial strength of the facility,” stated Carolyn Caldwell, St. Mary Hospital President.

Bonnie joins St. Mary with more than a decade of progressive executive leadership experience in hospital operations, including both for-profit and not-for-profit health systems. Her expertise in partnering with physician leaders, nursing staff and allied professionals, has led to significant improvement in quality, service delivery and patient satisfaction and safety – all major areas of focus for the hospital.

Bonnie’s professional background is matched by her belief in the concept of “servant leadership” - a commitment to sharing leadership responsibilities, promoting the talents of staff and helping people develop and perform as efficiently as possible. Her dedication to this ideal perfectly aligns with the mission and values of Dignity Health.

Prior to joining St. Mary, Bonnie held the role of Chief Administrative Officer with Alameda Hospital in California. She also served as Chief Operating Officer for Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she was responsible for approximately 300 full-time employees in clinical ancillary and support services departments.

In addition to her health care experience, Bonnie is a noted author and frequent speaker on the topics of diversity and mentoring and is a passionate advocate for women and minorities in executive roles. She is also Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the California Association of Healthcare Leaders.
