Volunteer for CARE

CARE is always in need of people to help us help others.

Volunteers are always needed for general office assistance and food bank services. To  volunteer you need to go through orientation at St. Mary Medical Center, which includes a general background check and training on issues related to confidentiality.

For more information on how to become a CARE Center volunteer, please call (562) 491-9766 or contact CARE at (562) 624-4999.

Special Events Volunteers

CARE also has a need for volunteers for special events like our annual Client Holiday Party, Long Beach Gay and Lesbian Pride Parade Team, Client Picnic, and fundraising events.  These events utilize a large number of volunteers and don’t require any orientation or special training.

For more information on volunteering for Special Events, please call (562) 624-4999.

We’re Moving! All your LGBTQ+ healthcare needs — in one convenient place.

We’ve been hard at work, preparing a place just for you! Whether you need STI testing or treatments, prevention education, prescriptions, dental work, social services, food services, or behavioral health support, we’re here for you. And that’s true, regardless of your ability to pay.

We're moving in August of 2023. Our beautiful new location will still be on the St. Mary Medical Center campus but all of our services will be offered in one convenient setting that has been designed with your comfort and privacy in mind. We offer the same great set of comprehensive services and want to help you live your healthiest, most authentic life possible.
