Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

If your baby should be premature, or if there’s any problem at all with your delivery, you need to know that you and your newborn will receive the absolute best care needed to help them grow and get healthy. St. Mary Medical Center offers a Level III-B NICU, equipped and staffed to provide immediate life-sustaining care to babies in need.

All babies in the NICU at St. Mary Medical Center are cared for by neonatologists, specialized physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists until they get strong enough to go home with their parents.

Touching and cuddling is essential to a newborn so the unit is open to parents so you can spend time bonding with your baby. Specially trained "cuddler" volunteers also spend time with babies, pampering and holding them in rocking chairs.
