Dignity Health in Arizona prepares for COVID-19 vaccination roll-out

(CHANDLER, Ariz. – Dec. 11, 2020) – In anticipation of the FDA’s decision on a COVID-19 vaccine, Dignity Health in Arizona is preparing for the upcoming rollout by holding a dry run at its vaccination site located at Chandler Gilbert Community College.

In collaboration with state and county public health officials, this point of distribution center is one of the five locations in the Valley where designated frontline health care workers will be able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in the first phase of the roll-out.

“Dignity Health in Arizona is proud to be part of the vaccination roll-out in partnership with the Maricopa County Department of Public Health,” said Heather James, Director of Nursing and Quality Assurance for Dignity Health Medical Group. “Our team has been closely collaborating with state and county public health officials and other local health care systems to safely and efficiently administer the vaccine to designated groups determined by public health officials in the coming weeks.”

This innovative, drive-through vaccination site is expected to go live later this month.
