Curriculum customization

East Valley internal medicine residents can use our unique selective rotations to build experience and knowledge along the career path you desire. These selectives are designed to allow residents to have a representative feel of the career you are entering without having to select a fixed track. You won’t find this approach in most residency programs. Plus, with 26 available electives, you can enhance your education to fit your goals.

Humankindness, wellness, leadership development, and unique learning retreats

Humankindness is not just a word you hear, it's something we believe in. Humankindness and and wellness are two key ares of focus throughout your three-year residency and are interwoven throughout the curriculum. A special PGY-1 fall retreat focuses on these wellness and resiliency concepts. We work with you to develop your leadership and teaching skills during a dedicated PGY-1 end-of-year retreat. A PGY-2 Career Guidance / Fellowship Preparation Retreat is designed to prepare our residents for your future beyond residency.

Ground-floor program development

When we launch our inaugural class in 2023, you get to be the first resident to come through and help build the program. This is a distinction that you can carry with you for the rest of your life. We encourage the desire to create, build and guide!

Individualized research

Our enterprising residency program puts your research in the “shark tank” and opens doors to potential state and national presentation opportunities. Internal medicine residents will also share research findings at several events throughout the year.
