For children and teens, hospitals can be stressful. Our Certified Child Life Specialist, educated and clinically trained in the developmental impact of illness and injury, helps children and their family with the stress and uncertainty of hospitalization through supports that include:
Child Life at NHMC currently accepts practicum students that are affiliated with contracted universities (Azusa Pacific University and University of La Verne) as opportunities arise. Child Life Internships and shadowing experiences are not offered. Our hospital is currently accepting volunteers. To help us prevent infection and maintain patient well-being and privacy, a staff member will need to accept your donation on behalf of the medical center. We will ensure it is properly delivered. Therefore, you will not be able to deliver your gifts to patients directly.
