Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Provides the patient with 100 percent oxygen at increased atmospheric pressures, which helps the body fight infection and promotes healing.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is helpful for patients who have carbon monoxide poisoning, bone infections (osteomyelitis) and other serious infections, crush injuries or injuries that affect circulation.
The hyperbaric oxygen chamber will treat diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, compromised skin grafts and flaps, and wounds that haven't healed within 30 days.
Types of Wounds Treated Include:
- Arterial ulcers
- Compromised skin grafts/flaps
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Pressure ulcers
- Radiation injuries
- Soft tissue infections
- Venous statis ulcers
We Are Trained for Wound Care
All of St. Bernardine Medical Center's Wound Healing Center physicians and staff have undergone specific hyperbaric and wound care training at Ohio State University. Our multi-disciplinary team includes general surgeons, specialists in internal medicine, infectious diseases, and more.
The Wound Healing Center offers a comprehensive approach to your patients suffering from chronic, non-healing wounds.
