To apply to the SMMC-SF Internal Medicine Residency Program you must submit your application via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Applications that are not submitted through ERAS will not be accepted for processing. Please contact your student affairs office for information regarding your school’s processing procedures for ERAS applications and software.
Internal Medicine Program Applicant Requirements:
International medical school graduates who are not licensed in California must apply for a California license and take Part 1 of the Federal Licensing Exam (FLEX) or USMLE Step I and Step II and submit a letter of eligibility (PTAL) from the Medical Board of California before being eligible for appointment. In addition, the applicant must have a valid ECFMG certificate.
