Residency Curriculum


We are a 3-year ACGME accredited Emergency Medicine Training Program. Each year consists of 13 four week blocks as follows:

PGY-1

  • Orientation / Emergency Department – St. Joseph’s Medical Center 
  • Emergency Department – St. Joseph’s Medical Center
  • Pediatric Emergency Medicine – Valley Children’s Hospital 
  • Intensive Care Unit – St. Joseph’s Medical Center 
  • Trauma Surgery – San Joaquin General Hospital 
  • Anesthesia – St. Joseph’s Medical Center 
  • Ultrasound / Emergency Department– St. Joseph’s Medical Center 
  • Orthopedics – St. Joseph’s Medical Center

PGY-2

  • Emergency Department – St. Joseph’s Medical Center 
  • Trauma Surgery – San Joaquin General Hospital
  • Intensive Care Unit –  St. Joseph’s Medical Center
  • OB/GYN – St. Joseph’s Medical Center
  • Pediatric Emergency Medicine – Valley Children’s Hospital 
  • Emergency Department / Medical Toxicology –  St. Joseph’s Medical Center
  • Elective

  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit –  St. Joseph’s Medical Center
