Cathleen Hamel Named Chief Nursing Executive

Cathleen Hamel, M.S., R.N., NEA-BC, has been selected as Dignity Health - St. Rose Dominican's chief nursing executive, providing oversight of the nursing staff functions at three southern Nevada hospitals.

Hamel was a nurse executive for the past 14 years in Arkansas and upstate New York. She also has more than 20 years of experience in operating room and surgical services.

In addition to a master’s degree in nursing administration and education from Sage Graduate School, Hamel holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Russell Sage College. Hamel is also in the process of completing a doctoral degree in nursing leadership and education from Sage Graduate School and is a member of the American Nurses Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and American Organization of Nurse Executives.

“Cathy is a very accomplished nurse, teacher, leader, and mentor, and we at St. Rose feel she is the perfect fit for this position,” said Brian Brannman, senior vice president of operations for Dignity Health Nevada. “We are so pleased that she is on board.”
