Ribbon Cutting Event Marks Opening of New Blue Diamond Neighborhood Hospital
A ribbon-cutting ceremony July 20 celebrated the newest Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican Neighborhood Hospital, which officially opened July 26 to serve patients in a region needing improved access to health care.
The Blue Diamond campus, 4855 Blue Diamond Road, is the second of four new neighborhood hospitals to be opened in southern Nevada this year through a joint-venture partnership of Emerus Holdings and Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican. The North Las Vegas campus opened June 26 at 1550 W. Craig Road. All four neighborhood hospitals will offer easy access to comprehensive, high-quality care in areas of the community where patients need it most.
“The neighborhood hospitals we are building allow us to create an integral delivery network – a one-stop shop – that delivers all of the things we want the future to hold for health care in southern Nevada,” said Laura Hennum, Emerus Market CEO for the Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican neighborhood hospitals. “The Blue Diamond team is eager to continue to bring the highest level of care and commitment, and build on the trust we’ve established in this community.”
Among the dignitaries attending the ribbon cutting was Dane Hudson, District Director for Congresswoman Jacky Rosen. Speaking on her behalf, Hudson said, “The thoughtfulness and strategic planning that go into a facility like this are truly impressive.”
Lianne Costello, representing the Office of U.S. Rep. Ruben Kihuen, and Christian Bato, representing the office of U.S. Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, presented certificates of recognition in honor of the ribbon-cutting event. Other speakers included Gene Bassett, Interim SVP of Operations for Dignity Health Nevada, Kristin McMillan, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce, and Sister Katie McGrail of Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican.
The 27,000-square-foot campus features a state-of-the-art emergency department, inpatient beds, advanced imaging center and an ambulatory service center. The Blue Diamond campus will be staffed by ER-trained physicians who are committed to providing the same expert level of care that has made Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican one of the nation’s leading health care systems.
