Message from the Program Director

Dr. Mrinmayee NaikThank you for your interest in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at St Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton, California. It is my privilege to lead a training program that develops well-rounded, compassionate Internal Medicine Physicians with excellent clinical skills. We believe that the diversity of our community is our strength and gives us a unique opportunity to train culturally competent physicians who will provide best possible care to the population we serve.

Our program’s clinical scope includes inpatient and outpatient medicine as well as subspecialty rotations including an intensive ICU curriculum with fellowship trained faculty. In addition to the highest quality clinical education, residents will engage in research and scholarly work that builds on the medical knowledge vital for evidence-based clinical practices with a specific focus on improving healthcare. Residents also get an opportunity to supplement their clinical education by participating in biweekly interactive morning reports, comprehensive weekly didactic sessions, training at our state-of-the-art simulation lab and monthly journal clubs. Our goal is to provide a robust educational experience, so our residents are well prepared for careers in general internal medicine as well as further subspeciality training.

We aim to promote a culture of teamwork, respect and genuine care amongst our residents and faculty. Our residents become a part of our family and it brings us great joy to watch them grow both as a physician and as a person during the three years that they are with us.

If you are looking for an opportunity to train at an Internal Medicine residency program which promotes a culture of excellence while serving a culturally and medically diverse population then we welcome you to join us!
