Of our residents who have applied for fellowship, approximately eight continued on into fellowships within Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease, Critical Care Medicine, Nephrology, Palliative and Hospice Care, and Rheumatology.

Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center Stockton Internal Medicine Residency receives 1700 applications on average each interview cycle. Historically, we interview about 10% of applicants and rank 70% of interviewees.

As a new program, we have had 40 residents to date with cohorts of 10. Our inaugural class graduated in June 2023.

Approximately 83% are from California - 33% overall are from the Central Valley.
73% are International Medical Graduates and 27% are Osteopathic graduates.
55% of our residents are women - 45% of all our residents are women of color.
