San Martin Hospital Named Best Place to Have a Baby in 40th Annual Best of Las Vegas Awards

Hospital earns Gold Award in nation’s largest local Best Of survey.

LAS VEGAS, December 12, 2021 – Dignity Health–St. Rose Dominican San Martin Hospital has again been selected as Best Place to Have a Baby in the 2021 Best of Las Vegas awards, capturing the top Gold Award in the annual survey of Las Vegas Review-Journal readers.

Kimberly Shaw, President and CEO of San Martin Hospital, said, “Thank you, Las Vegas, for once again ranking San Martin as the best place to have a baby. We believe every birth is unique and that’s why we strive to offer a unique and welcoming birth experience for the mothers who share this important life event with us.”

San Martin is the only hospital in the Las Vegas valley where mothers and babies stay together in the same room through the entire experience. The hospital was also the first in the state to offer mothers nitrous oxide for pain relief during childbirth. Every new arrival is also celebrated as news of each birth is announced with a gentle lullaby played throughout the hospital.

San Martin’s board-certified laborists are on site 24/7, so no matter when each bundle of joy decides it is time to arrive, our team will be ready to support mothers through the experience. Learn more at sanmartinbaby.org.

San Martin has served families in the southwest Las Vegas valley since 2006 with 147 inpatient beds and a staff of more than 800 medical professionals and staff.  San Martín Hospital also earned the Bronze Award as Best Hospital in this year’s Best of Las Vegas survey.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal launched Best of Las Vegas in 1991 as a small reader’s opinion poll. Forty years later Best of Las Vegas has become the largest local Best Of contest in the U.S. More than 5.7 million votes were cast in the 2021 Best of Las Vegas survey between August 30 and September 23.

The San Martín Campus is no stranger to accolades from the readers of Nevada’s largest daily publication. In addition to the honors garnered from the 2021 survey, Review-Journal readers have selected the hospital and its staff for a number of awards in previous years. Among them:

  • 2019 Gold Best Place to Have a Baby
  • 2018 Silver Best Place to Have a Baby
  • 2017 Silver Best Place to Have a Baby
  • 2018 Gold Best Hospital
  • 2017 Silver Best Hospital
  • 2016 Gold Best Hospital
