Breast cancer … it can affect both women and men, and with early detection and treatment, many breast cancer patients not only survive but go on to lead healthy, happy and vibrant lives.
Southern Nevada ranks among the highest in the nation for underinsured and uninsured individuals. Dignity Health - St. Rose Dominican has worked in partnership with Susan G. Komen Nevada, the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Rose Regatta to provide free clinical breast exams, mammograms, ultrasounds, surgical consultations and biopsies to women and men 49 and younger who lack adequate health care resources or the financial means to obtain them.
On November 30, 2018, the program was re-dedicated as the Engelstad Foundation R.E.D. Rose Program after the St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation received a transformational $10 million donation from the Las Vegas-based Engelstad Foundation.
Since it's inception, the Engelstad Foundation R.E.D. Rose Program has provided screenings, clinical breast exams, mammograms, ultrasounds, surgical consultations, and biopsies for more than 6,000 clients.
For those 50 and over, call the Mammovan at (877) 581-6266 for services.
This collaborative program is called R.E.D. Rose (RED stands for Responsible Early Detection). Because the breast cancer survival rate for both women and men is directly related to how early treatment is sought, the program addresses the need for quality breast cancer screenings, diagnostic screenings and treatment
