Cardiopulmonary Services

Cardiopulmonary refers to how your heart and lungs work together. When a problem begins in one of these vital organs often times a secondary issue occurs in the other organ. At Mercy Gilbert our cardiopulmonary services provide diagnostic testing and treatments for cardiology, neurology and respiratory issues.

Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic Testing
Our staff of registered respiratory therapists, certified respiratory technicians, registered echocardiographers and EEG technologists provide a variety of respiratory and non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures such as:

  • Echocardiogram – This test determines how well your heart muscle and valves are working. Mercy Gilbert's Echocardiogram Lab is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories. This national governing board of doctors sets standards of best practices to ensure the highest quality of care is provided to everyone. All of the technicians that work in this lab are registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Through this certification our technicians undergo continuing education so they can universally provide you with safe and quality care.
  • Electrocardiogram – Problems with the electrical activity of your heart are identified in this test.
  • Pulmonary Function Test – In this test the size and condition of your lungs are measured.
  • Stress Test – This test is done to evaluate how well your heart is working.
