Dignity Health Central Coast, which includes Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, French Hospital Medical Center, Marian Regional Medical Center, St. John’s Regional Medical Center, and St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital, is the largest network of Primary Stroke Center hospitals on the Central Coast that include a breadth of neurological care services, when combined, unavailable anywhere else in the area.

Extensive, Cohesive, Team-Centered Stroke Care
The Dignity Health Central Coast Neuroscience Services Stroke Program is unique in that it offers patients a broad continuum of care from Emergency Department treatment to in-house acute rehabilitation.
In order to provide advance, comprehensive care for stroke patients, the stroke team includes:
- Hospital-based physicians available 24/7 with expertise in stroke diagnosis and emergency treatment
- Registered nurses available 24/7 with expertise in stroke management
- Physical, speech, and occupational therapists
- Dieticians
- Case managers and social workers
The team also relies on the excellent services of the Dignity Health pharmacy, Laboratory, and Diagnostic Imaging Department.
