Application Process

PGY-1 FP resident applicants must apply through ERAS the Electronic Residency Application Service. 

Our residency program typically begins reviewing applications in September. The following materials are required to complete your file: 

  • Common Application
  • Personal Statement
  • Three Letters of Recommendation
  • Dean's Letter
  • Medical School Transcript
  • USMLE or COMLEX Score(s) 

2024-2025 Interview Season Information

Applications: Applicants interested in applying for both the Urban and Rural Training Programs MUST apply to each program separately in ERAS.

Each Track has its own NRMP Code:

Family Medicine Sacramento (Urban) - 1140120C0
Family Medicine Grass Valley (Rural) - 1140120C1

Types of Interviews that will be Offered:

Interview Format: Applicants to BOTH the Urban & Rural Training Programs will interview with both the urban site and the rural site. 

Urban Program (Sacramento): All interviews will be conducted virtually.
Rural Program (Grass Valley): All interviews will be conducted in-person.

Plan for Offering Second Looks:

The Urban Training Program is offering three in-person open house, second looks. These will be scheduled on November 13, December 11 and January 8 2025.

The Rural Program will have two second looks between December 2024 and January 2025. 

Second looks will be open to all applicants who interviewed with us and will be truly optional.

Interview Date Range:

The Urban and Rural Training Programs will interview selected applicants October to December 2024.

Please note, an interview is granted only when you receive confirmation of the interview date from our program. 

If selected for an interview, we will notify the applicant via email and direct them to schedule an interview via “Scheduler” in ERAS.
