At Dignity Health Methodist Hospital’s Family Medicine Residency Program, we focus on training family physicians in caring for many different populations. One of our goals is to also train our residents to recognize victims and survivors of human trafficking. Dignity Health patients can expect to be treated with the respect, dignity, and compassion they deserve in a safe, judgment-free space focused on their healing, health, and well-being.

Our Mercy Family Health Center

Our purpose is to provide a safe primary care medical environment for victims and survivors of human trafficking led by understanding physicians and medical staff extensively trained in victim-centered, trauma-informed care.

Our Feedback: The Program Works

“The physician education, training, and development of a human trafficking victim medical home developed at the Dignity Health Family Medicine Residency Program has been conceptualized and implemented with incredible success. We hope to spread the concept to residencies clinics throughout the country and standardize human trafficking victim and survivor care in physician education and training across the country. It is a viable solution with the potential to synergistically provide widespread healthcare that coincides with training the physicians of tomorrow to recognize and treat this vulnerable patient population. ”  -Ron Chambers, MD, FAAFP
